Testing, testing....packing for five!

During our trip we are unable to post directly to the blog so I have set up to email posting. Blogger is blocked in China!! This is a test to make sure my account is set up right.
We are packed. 2 suitcases and a carry on each, 5 of us, 19 days. Each suitcase is 49.5 lbs, max allowed is 50 lbs, cutting it close!!

Does he know we are coming?? This is one of the most frequent questions we get asked about our trip. The answer is...we don't know. We sent off a care package a couple of weeks ago through Ann at Red Thread.

We included a note to him with a little info on us and that we are excited to meet him. It is our hope the SWI will show him the album and prepare him a little bit for leaving. He is leaving everything he has known for 4 1/2 years. This is very heavy on my heart.

Welcome to our new blog!!!!

Glad you made it over to our new blog!! Since Ami already has a mei mei we decided to start a new blog for our jouney to Zhi and beyond. First up....introducing our new family member Zhi......

In February

He was born on December 1, 2007 and lives in Yuhang SWI in Hangzhou. We got an update recently and here is what we know about him:

Height-90 cm (another wee one!!)
Weight-30 lbs

He is able to speak smoothly, explain simple things, describe simple picture, sing short songs and speak short children’s rhythm.


He communicates with caregivers well, follow the caregivers instructions, caregivers love him very much. He likes to receive hugs and affections from caregivers, he feel happy when caregiver take him back home.


Caregiver give him comfort, tell him reason, he would calm down quickly. He enjoys going to kindergarten occasionally get angry as he is afraid that can't attend school.

Meal time: 7:00,11:00, 16:30, pastry time: 6:00, 9:00, 13:40, 19:30. He likes pork cooked in sauce and tomato fried egg best.

He goes to kindergarten and receives education as classmates. He is in small No.1 class of The third kindergarten of Linping, yuhang District.

He does well in school and the heads of kindergarten all love him.

He gets along well with other children, and enjoys playing games with other children.

He is a shy, introverted, and lovely boy, who gets along well with others, fond of music, singing, talkative, has a ready smile, enjoys reading book, playing games, and dislikes noise around.

He likes blocks and climbing activities.

We are getting ready to travel JULY 1!!!! The girls are super excited to be big sisters and for our trip to China.
